CTIC as a partner
CTIC Technology Centre, a competent partner for carrying out your Research and Innovation project

CTIC carries out significant activities at international level. Our strategy is focused on different geographical areas.

In Europe, CTIC participates actively in international consortia for the development of projects within the HORIZON 2020 Program, as well as other European Funding Programmes. This allows us to work closely with companies and organizations from different European countries and to maintain collaborative relationships with related or complementary Research Centers, distributed throughout Europe.

In addition, CTIC focuses its strategy on other geographic areas such as Latin America and the Caribbean and some African countries (Angola, Guinea, South Africa and Ethiopia) where we add value in the design of strategic policies for technological development and innovation as well as in the transfer of methodologies and technology with Governments and other Territorial Agencies.

Our international projection is further supported by our collaboration and participation in development cooperation programs, through international organizations such as UN Africa (UNECA), the Organization for American States (OAS), the Spanish Agency for Development Cooperation (AECID) and the Finnish Cooperation Agency.

CTIC Intelligent Data Analysis

At CTIC Foundation we work with companies and organizations to get the best performance from their data, by combining the understanding of business intelligence and semantic technologies to process information.
We offer businesses a research team that works on semantic technologies and data intelligence applied to different areas:
  • Data Mining. We are specialists in the treatment of data and in providing intelligence to them.
  • Text mining. Automatic classification of content and concepts, review and analysis of reputation.
  • Publication and knowledge management. Building ontology and vocabularies according to W3C international standards, aiming at detecting, classifying and exploiting knowledge.
  • Visualization and data representation. Construction of data visual representation systems from different sources.
  • Recognition of natural language. At both written and voice level.

Enery Efficiency

CTIC has a team with  a long and varied experience in the renewable energy and energy efficiency fields. One of the projects to be emphasized is the sustainable management of renewable resources in neighborhoods, districts and cities, by using several modeling and simulation tools and ICT based solutions. Modeling and simulation are applied to any kind of buildings and industrial processes, for analyzing the thermal and dynamic behaviour of the different systems. We use ICT solutions in the energy field by performing designs and developments of appropriate sensor networks in each case, and designing control strategies to optimize the energy use. Also, we work in the design of energy efficiency strategies in order to reduce the energy use in different sectors: buildings, industry, etc.

Accelerating Technological Innovation and Digital Maturity of Business

The challenge for CTIC is for people to become more creative and innovative, companies to be more competitive, institutions to be more efficient and territories to be socially and economically sustainable.
CTIC provides high added value services through the development of strategies and intervention models that are capable of being transferred to other territorial contexts.
A prime example of this work is the development, implementation and management of the Technological and Innovation Support Network for the economic development of Asturias, which has become one of the flagship projects, on which CTIC has based the design and transfer of the Digital Maturity and Technological Innovation model to other territorial contexts and which has been supported by Governments and Institutions not only in Spain, but also in various Central American countries.
